The venue of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has a question over it as the ICC Board are looking at finalising the venue and schedule of matches. The tournament was scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan. However, these plans are in limbo due to Indian team not travelling to Pakistan (security reasons).

The ICC are looking at a hybrid model, whereby certain matches could be played at available neutral grounds (UAE could be a possible venue). It is expected a decision will be made very soon as the cricketing world are waiting on what can happen – especially because this is an important tournament.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Hybrid Model

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will also be its ninth edition, and will feature the top eight ranked ODI teams.

It is being held from February 19 to March 9, 2025, and will have additional meaning since it will be held in Pakistan only. This will be the first major international cricket event held in Pakistan since the Sri Lanka cricket team was attacked in 2009.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the template ICC to change the tournament venue from Pakistan to Dubai, due to security concerns.

To this PCB proposed that India could return home after each match during the Champions Trophy to ensure security. However, the final decision on this matter has not been made by the ICC.
